Then they'd definitely have written the one we're about to share with you! (Note for all post-Generation X-ers: Carlsberg once had a famous slogan—“Probably the best beer in the world” - more details in the footnote!)

Before we dive into the review itself, we must preface this blog by emphasising how meaningful every review we receive is. Not every couple will provide one, and of course, that's absolutely fine. However, we can't stress enough how important they are in building trust, credibility, and confidence. We are deeply proud to now have over 100 reviews, and we extend heartfelt thanks to every kind soul who has taken the time to share their experience with us!

But occasionally, a review comes along that makes you pause and think, “Wow - these clients absolutely understood what booking a professional independent celebrant is all about!” Without further ado, here’s a glowing review from the simply gorgeous Claudia and Will, whom we had the pleasure of helping to tie the knot at Nancarrow in September 2025:

After first speaking to Lisa face-to-face on a video call, we knew she was exactly the type of person we wanted to tell our story. And what a story she told! We were so, so happy with the draft she came up with (the questionnaire she sent made it all feel so easy) but, on the day, hearing her delivery was even better than we could have imagined.

Lisa totally captivated the room, balanced poignant and funny effortlessly, and we had so many comments afterwards about how unique and enjoyable the ceremony was. She has such an air of authority and calm which gives you complete confidence in her (especially when you're feeling the nerves and big emotions on the day!). And you can tell just by her demeanour that she's done this so many times and that you're in safe hands.

Pair that with the fact she's kind, light-hearted, and can read the crowd and adjust accordingly - and you know you're onto a winner! If you're on the fence whatsoever, I'm telling you, just go for it. Thanks again, Lisa. Wish we could do it all over!

Aww... we can't help but get a bit emotional reading feedback like this, but we wanted to take the opportunity to use these kind words to demonstrate some of the amazing advantages you get from booking a professional and experienced celebrant to tell your story on your most important day. And when better to fly the flag for all independent celebrants than during World Celebrants Week 2025!

A fully personalised experience

One of the standout benefits of booking an independent celebrant is their ability and experience to craft a ceremony that is uniquely yours. Take Claudia and Will – even though their wedding venue was licensed for marriages, giving them the option of a local authority registrar/celebrant to deliver their ceremony, they recognised that only an independent celebrant would take the time to get to know them, using well-honed techniques to capture the very essence of their story. Which is the only way to ensure that the words on the day are deeply personal and resonate with everyone present – and will never have been told at a ceremony before!

Engaging, entertaining and emotive delivery

Public speaking is not an area in which everyone excels. Simply reciting the words of a script pales in comparison to the much more engaging, entertaining and emotive delivery of a professional celebrant. Our clients kindly commented on our particular style, and truly, this can only come from experience, expertise and a genuine passion for the role: as someone who has witnessed the delivery of many ceremonies, I genuinely believe that a professional independent celebrant brings a level of engagement and charisma that a simple script reader cannot.

Calm and confident

On your big day, it's absolutely understandable that emotions can run high, and nerves can get the best of anyone. This is where the calm composure and level-headedness of an experienced celebrant become invaluable. Knowing that your ceremony is in the hands of someone with this type of emotional intelligence and competence really does provide peace of mind and allows you to relax and fully immerse yourself in the moment – a skill our clients regularly comment on when reviewing the quality of our service.

Adaptability and audience connection

Another standout quality of booking an independent celebrant is their ability to constantly read the room – which is essential if you want your guests to feel welcome, comfortable, engaged and connected. This type of adaptability and quick wit really is a testament to the expertise and professionalism of the celebrant and is something which, we believe, can elevate the entire ceremony experience.

A heartfelt thank you

At the end of the day, choosing a celebrant is more than just hiring someone to officiate; it’s much more than just delivering the words on a page. It's an investment in memories that will last a lifetime. The heartfelt delivery, personalised storytelling, and professional poise create a ceremony that is truly one-of-a-kind.

So a huge thank you to Claudia and Will - you really did give us the Carlsberg of reviews! And your kind words encapsulate the essence of what we strive to achieve for each couple we have the opportunity to work with. Every love story is unique, and it's our mission to celebrate that individuality with sincerity and joy.

To everyone who has shared their experiences online, we send love and thanks. Your reviews not only help us grow but also inspire other couples to consider choosing a celebrant who will honour their unique journey. Here's to more stories, more love, and more incredible reviews - because every love story deserves to be told in the best way possible!

Footnote:

*The advertising campaign that used the phrase "If Carlsberg did..." first ran in the 1970s. The full, original strapline was "Probably the best beer in the world," which was then adapted for the "If Carlsberg did..." campaign, such as "If Carlsberg did pub teams, they'd probably be the best pub team in the world".

The campaign has been used in various forms ever since, and was revived most recently in 2015.
