As a Cornwall wedding celebrant, one of the greatest privileges of my role is getting to know a couple's story and bringing it to life in a way that feels completely personal to them. Anna and Sam's celebrant-led wedding at Boconnion was a perfect example of why I love what I do.

Set within the beautiful Cornish countryside, Boconnion provided a stunning backdrop for a wedding ceremony that celebrated not only a marriage but also a decade of friendship, adventure and love. Surrounded by family and friends – with even more loved ones watching from afar via video link – Anna and Sam gathered to mark a relationship that had been ten years in the making.
The Ceremony
From the very beginning, this wedding ceremony was full of personality. As guests took their seats, Sam and his wedding party made an unforgettable entrance, dancing their way down the aisle and encouraging everyone to smile, clap and cheer. It immediately created the relaxed and joyful atmosphere that Anna and Sam wanted for their day.
As the music changed and the rest of the wedding party made their entrance, anticipation built for Anna's arrival. Escorted by her proud father Ross, she looked radiant as she walked towards the next chapter of her life. It was a beautiful reminder that a wedding ceremony is about more than two people; it's also about the family and friendships that help shape the journey.
One of the things I love most about a celebrant-led wedding in Cornwall is the freedom to create meaningful moments that truly reflect the couple. Throughout the ceremony, Anna and Sam's family and friends were invited to play their own part in the celebration, promising their continued support, friendship and encouragement for the years ahead.
The warmth in the room was unmistakable. As we reflected on Anna and Sam's story, guests were given a glimpse into a relationship built on shared adventures, mutual respect and a genuine enjoyment of life together. Their journey has taken them around the world, but at its heart is something beautifully simple: two people who love spending life side by side.
What became clear throughout the ceremony was how well they complement one another. Their differences bring balance, their shared values provide strength, and their ability to support one another through every season of life has created a partnership that feels both grounded and inspiring.
The Special Moments
The emotional heart of the ceremony came with the exchange of personal vows. One of the joys of a celebrant-led wedding is the freedom to include promises written entirely for one another. As part of my role, I support couples by reviewing their vows independently, offering guidance where needed and helping them strike the perfect balance between sincerity, humour and surprise. Hearing Anna and Sam share those heartfelt promises was a real highlight of the day and a moment that won't soon be forgotten.
The rings were then delivered with great care by two very important young members of the wedding party – a truly lovely moment – before Anna and Sam exchanged rings and formally marked the next stage of their journey together.
And then, with vows spoken, rings exchanged and a decade of memories behind them, Anna and Sam shared their first kiss as husband and wife, greeted by huge smiles, enthusiastic applause and more than a few happy tears.
Their celebrant-led wedding at Boconnion was a celebration of everything that helps a relationship thrive: friendship, laughter, adventure, patience, trust and a commitment to choosing one another every day.
As they walked back down the aisle, surrounded by cheers from family and friends, there was a wonderful sense that this was not the end of a journey but the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
The Feedback
A few days after the wedding, Anna and Sam kindly left the following review:
Working with Lisa felt so easy and natural, more like getting to know a new friend over coffee. We never felt rushed or under pressure, yet she created an amazing service that was completely personal to us, our story, and the exact feel we wanted for the day.
Lisa is a wonderful listener and communicator, and during a busy time planning a wedding she was the one vendor we most looked forward to hearing from. She was so understanding in the lead-up and brought together all the funny and romantic anecdotes we'd discussed into something even better than we could have hoped for.
On the day, she was a calm and reassuring presence. She took time to talk things through with us individually and made sure everyone involved felt comfortable and confident, even the toddler flower girls and ring-bearers. The service flowed beautifully — warm, genuine, and full of laughter and tears — and still kept that element of surprise for us as a couple.
Lisa is an incredibly skilled celebrant who creates a unique, heartfelt service that truly reflects you as a couple – far from anything formal or generic. Our ceremony told our story in a way that made everyone laugh and cry and felt completely ‘us’. If you want a service that is personal, meaningful, and memorable, we cannot recommend her enough.
Thank you for being such a special part of our day — you heard our love story and brought it to life.
My Thoughts
Reading feedback like this is such a joy. One of the things that makes working as an independent celebrant so special is the opportunity to spend real time getting to know my couples. Anna, Sam and I met over coffee, shared ideas throughout the planning process and stayed in regular contact in the lead-up to the wedding. Those conversations helped shape every part of the ceremony, ensuring it felt completely personal to them and a true reflection of their story.
Weddings like Anna and Sam's are exactly why so many couples are choosing celebrant-led weddings in Cornwall. The freedom to tell your story, involve the people who matter most and create a ceremony that feels genuinely personal can transform the ceremony from a formality into one of the highlights of the entire day.
For me, this wedding was a wonderful reminder of why I believe so strongly in personalised, celebrant-led weddings. They allow couples to create a ceremony that reflects their personalities, values and unique journey, turning the ceremony itself into one of the most memorable parts of the day.
Congratulations, Anna and Sam. Thank you so much for trusting me to tell your story and for allowing me to be part of such a beautiful wedding at Boconnion.
