As we wrap up the 2025 season, it feels only fitting that we dedicate our final blog to an extraordinary couple: James and Natasha. From the moment we met them, they captured our hearts in ways we could never have anticipated!

We first crossed paths at the Boconnion Open Day in January 2024, a whole 20 months before their wedding! It was at this stage they booked our services, and it was wonderful to catch up with them again at the same event the following year. Then in the late summer of 2025, we found ourselves in deep conversation over tea and coffee at our local garden centre - it was time to start planning for their wedding ceremony at Boconnion.
A Perfect Match
We often connect with couples over shared values, a love for cats (!), or a similar sense of humour. With Natasha and James, it was all these things and more. We particularly loved how Natasha’s constant smile and infectious enthusiasm for their wedding were perfectly balanced by James’ dry wit and understated devotion to his bride-to-be. And Natasha’s regular reminders of how excited she was about their day would prove to be completely endearing!
Getting to know them was a joy, as was writing their ceremony, and we were especially thrilled when we discovered they wanted to write their own vows. We know how daunting this can be and are always delighted to offer our support - it’s handy to have a mediator to ensure the vows are kept a surprise from one another until the day! - but in all honesty, Tash and James hardly needed our help. Natasha’s vows, in particular, were beautifully thought out - heartfelt, humorous, and deeply personal. We knew James would love them. (And just for the record - James prepared an equally impressive masterpiece!)
When the first draft of their ceremony was ready to send, our couple emailed to say how excited they were to read it - and then came their feedback: “Oh my goodness!! You absolutely smashed it! We love it Thank you so much!! We honestly love it! We can’t wait!!“
Personal Touches and Surprises
James had mentioned that his sister, Connie, wanted to do a reading, and they hoped that along with the vows, this too would be a surprise. We chatted with her directly about options, including some lesser-known cat-themed readings, but clever Connie decided to write something herself, adding an extra level of personalisation that truly elevated the ceremony. On the day, her reading “They’re Happy” really was the perfect addition and had our couple in tears; it was so apt and heartfelt. We also had a few surprises in store for the guests, and our couple, too. Instead of having the rings presented by the best man, the ring boxes were hidden under two random seats, creating surprise ring bearers. It worked brilliantly, with two fabulously supportive guests presenting the rings at just the right moment. And knowing our couple’s love for the US version of The Office, we incorporated some unexpected references to their favourite show into the ceremony, which they were not prepared for, sparking more smiles and laughter.
Working with Emily Mahon, their photographer, was another highlight. Emily’s presence is always a delight - she’s incredibly kind, calming, and full of love. She’s one of our highly recommended photographers - and the perfect choice for capturing Natasha and James’ wedding ceremony at Boconnion.

A Day to Remember
On their November wedding day, just before the ceremony we enjoyed catching up with the couple individually - a chat with James, who was looking very dapper in his velvet jacket, and then Natasha and her entourage, buzzing with excitement as they all got ready together in the Stables. Dad Phil was of course delighted to escort Natasha into The Barn, accompanied by multiple best men and bridesmaids!
The ceremony itself was a dream - filled with love, laughter, and heartfelt words that brought a tear to everyone’s eyes. The trip down memory lane started from their fateful and unexpected meeting in 2018, a first kiss at a kebab shop (!), conversations about the future at Fistral, and then making a life together in Cornwall with their feline companions, and learning to ‘adult’ along the way. In a beautiful twist, it was Natasha who proposed to James (taking full advantage of 29 February) - and then James proposed right back to her, exactly eighteen months to the very day, and in the same location. But this time, with the addition of a stunning engagement ring!
Then as the narration of their love story came to an end, their vows might have made us all cry a little more - with both Tash and James managing to add some hilarious Office references of their own, but made with such sincerity and love, it really was the most incredible moment.
Having enjoyed a day to remember, their honeymoon took them back to the very hotel in Malta where they first met. (Remarkably, it’s also where our celebrant Lisa and her husband honeymooned 26 years ago!)
Upon their return, Natasha and James sent us a typically enthusiastic email!
We honestly had THE best day and can’t thank you enough!! Thank you for everything!!
Later, they shared these touching words:
Where do we begin? Lisa was absolutely incredible, and we truly couldn’t have asked for anyone better. She made our wedding so much fun while also keeping it deeply sentimental and meaningful. She took the time to really listen to our story and somehow brought all of our memories back to life with her beautiful way with words. Our ceremony felt so personal, genuine, and just us. Every single one of our guests commented on how special it was, even one who, in his words, ‘never attends ceremonies as they’re the boring part’. We are beyond grateful for everything Lisa did to make our day unforgettable.
Working with James and Natasha on their wedding ceremony at Boconnion was truly the cherry on top of our 2025 season. They epitomised our ideal clients, fully invested in both their marriage and their wedding ceremony at Boconnion. It has been a privilege and a joy to walk this journey with them.
