The joyful celebrant-led ceremony of Laura and Adam at Trevibban Mill vineyard

Updated: Nov 13

Laura and Adam’s joyful celebrant-led ceremony took place two years to the day after it was originally scheduled, at Trevibban Mill vineyard on Friday 24 June 2022…

…. And it was a joyful celebration of a longstanding relationship based on a shared love of the sea, good wine and a dog called Dylan! We first met Laura and Adam all the way back in 2019, when they booked their wedding ceremony for the following year. And of course, 2020 was a year in which we did not perform a single wedding thanks to Covid, and it was an equally tough year for many of our couples. But undeterred, Adam and Laura rescheduled their big day for 2021… to find that their date only just coincided with restrictions lifting in the UK, and with guests coming from overseas, where borders were still closed, they felt compelled to postpone again. But very luckily for Laura and Adam, they were able to have their legal church wedding with just their family present in June 2021, and they did so in the beautiful little church of St Enodoc among the sand dunes above Daymer Bay. Fast forward one year later, and we were at last able to celebrate fully, with a celebrant-led celebration at Trevibbban Mill, a truly stylish venue not far from where Adam and Laura had made their legal promises to one another exactly one year earlier. And what a day it was! Not even the Cornish mizzle could dampen the spirits of the guests as they arrived at the vineyard; this was a celebration which was long overdue.

There were so many lovely moments to reflect on. The most incredible performance of The Book of Love by James McClean set the tone perfectly as Laura entered the rustic barn and walked down the aisle to her husband; the look on Adam’s face as his eyes met with Laura’s and he realised that this was it, this was the day they’d been anticipating for so long; the beautifully chosen and perfectly performed readings by good friends Adam and Emily (we so love it when couples choose great readers!); and the weddings rings which were a little hard to exchange in the warm and damp June air!

And while Adam and Laura’s furry, destructive dog child Dylan had got cold paws at the last moment, and decided to swerve the wedding in favour of a biscuit and a snooze, his various exploits formed quite the focus for the ceremony story.

Laura and Adam posted this very kind review of their experience with Celebrant in Cornwall:

We first got in touch with Lisa in 2019, shortly after we got engaged. Two postponements later, Lisa finally officiated at our wedding celebration in June 2022! She is so lovely, warm and kind and did an amazing job with the ceremony; patiently re-writing our ceremony script a number of times as our circumstances kept changing over the years. We had so many compliments on how personal and special the ceremony was, and we've just had our wedding video back from our videographer and were blown away once again by how lovely it all was - albeit completely in line with the multiple comments we had from our guests along those lines. We would definitely recommend Lisa to anyone getting married down in Cornwall or nearby in the future :)

Thank you Adam and Laura, we’re so pleased that you loved your ceremony, especially after such a long time planning it. We will remember it for the beautifully romantic and fun vibe, which had us all crying and laughing (sometimes simultaneously!), and a truly classy champagne toast which was worth the wait. Cheers to you both!

Thank you to Paul Fox at Albion Row for another lovely set of images - great working with you as always!
