When it comes to exchanging vows in a picturesque location, Cornwall shines as a top-tier choice. As experienced independent wedding celebrants in Cornwall, we've had the distinct pleasure of officiating at an incredible variety of wedding venues, each brimming with its unique charm and character. Whether you're envisioning a grand celebration or an intimate affair, Cornwall offers something to fulfil every couple's dreams. Let’s delve into some of our favourite venues - we've had the honour of working at all of them!

Country houses with luxury accommodation

Cornwall is renowned for its stunning manor houses to provide a sophisticated backdrop for your special day. While we typically shy away from fussy, formal weddings (sorry, it’s really not us!), there is one country house we wholeheartedly endorse for your celebration: Boconnion. As the celebrant of choice for Boconnion, we highly recommend its exceptional service (and you get to work with Caroline Griffiths, who is the top wedding planner in Cornwall!), stylish accommodation, and versatile ceremony options both indoors and out, complete with gorgeous extras like a swimming pool, tennis courts, and beautiful scenery for those sunset shots. Simply perfect for a fun, laid-back but luxurious wedding weekend with friends and family.

Beautiful barns and rustic retreats

Barn weddings exude timeless charm, and Cornwall boasts some of the most picturesque barns perfect for a rustic celebration. However, our top pick is without a doubt Nancarrow where the Celebrant in Cornwall team frequently officiates ceremonies for couples who are looking to have a super-special ceremony. This venue, known for its cosy and intimate setting surrounded by nature, is our favourite barn venue in Cornwall, offering incomparable service quality and fabulous accommodation. Plus it really is a venue for all seasons - filled with the colours and scents of flowers and herbs in spring and summer, with wood-burning fireplaces and fire pits adding to the magical feel of autumn and winter.

Eco-friendly venues for sustainable celebrations

Eco-friendly venues hold a special place in our hearts, and Cornwall offers an impressive array of sustainable options, so it’s very hard for us to choose a favourite! Whether it's Mount Pleasant Eco Park, the only fully vegan venue we’ve ever come across; Cornish Tipis with its stunning lake and ceremony spaces; Potager Garden with its incredible food and beautiful glasshouse; or Kilminorth with its impressive eco-credentials and commitment to sustainability, these venues promise memorable, environmentally conscious celebrations - and here at Celebrant in Cornwall, we highly recommend all of them!

Flexibility and privacy with a holiday home

From renowned houses like The Big Beautiful Beach House, The Stack, and Northcott Beach House to marquee weddings and ceremonies at family homes, we can’t shout about the perfection of a holiday home wedding in Cornwall enough! Cornwall's holiday homes are perfect for couples seeking a relaxed and chill vibe with just their closest friends and family. We adore these settings for their laid-back nature, and there’s always something about a holiday home wedding which (we think) feels super special and personal. There are some great companies keen to support more holiday home wedding ceremonies in Cornwall; do ask us if you’d like some help.

Nature attractions where you can tie the knot

For those seeking a unique setting in nature, we often find ourselves booked for Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens and St. Nectan's Glen. These hidden gems provide a celebration off the beaten path amidst breathtaking natural surroundings - including hidden valleys, woodlands and even waterfalls. These are absolutely incredible for photo opportunities and something highly suited to you if you are looking for something a bit more zen and spiritual!

Coastal venues for beach and cliffside ceremonies

For couples dreaming of saying "I do" with the soothing sound of waves, Cornwall's coastline offers some truly breathtaking options. We adore ‘on the beach’ venues like Lusty Glaze with its private setting in a gorgeous Cornish cove, Beacon Crag with its incredible views and wildly romantic setting, and The Rockpool nestled in the sand dunes at Gwithian - which is also our very favourite beach for the dreamiest post-wedding photos.

A ceremony in a Cornish vineyard

Should you wish to celebrate with a glass of your favourite Cornish fizz in the very place it was made, you have options! Two of our favourites include Trevibban Mill (wonderfully located near Padstow and perfect for combining with some cute coastal photos) and Knightor Winery, which offers another beautiful setting for a wedding, with gorgeous rustic features. (We only wish Camel Valley offered wedding ceremonies, as it’s very local to us AND it’s our tipple of choice - we'd love to officiate there!)

Historical elegance: castles and manors

Cornwall is blessed with many historical venues exuding heritage and elegance. We've had the privilege of working at some of these magnificent locations, such as Pentillie Castle with its fabulous bathing hut (our favourite spot for a ceremony there), Pencarrow with its stunning formal gardens (and luxury camping), and Pengenna Manor, an 800-year-old private house (from where we have taken couples to the stunning North Cornish coast for their ceremony - it’s right on the doorstep!). But there are many more you can no doubt locate for yourselves!

Countryside retreats aplenty!

Cornwall's countryside retreats are plentiful, and among our favourites are Roscarrock with its fabulous country and sea views, the endlessly pretty venue that is The Green, the relaxed and rural setting at Trevenna Barns, the rolling hills, lush gardens and open skies of Camel Studio, the understated rustic glamour of Launcells Barton, and also The Barn at Pengelly, set among lakes and wildflower fields. Each offers a unique charm for your special day - and no doubt there are many more we have forgotten to include in this category - but we’re happy to chat about them!

Need some advice?

Writing this blog, we've surprised ourselves with the number of top wedding venues in Cornwall we've officiated at as independent wedding celebrants over the years! And, of course, there are more options for ceremonies on a cliffside, or by the water, or in a woodland - with no venue required. If you're seeking a celebrant’s opinion on these Cornwall wedding venues or other venues we may not have mentioned, feel free to get in touch - it's all part of the independent celebrant service! And if you have a browse of our blog - it's very likely we will have a real life story or two on your venue of choice :-)
