Since August has presented us with a moment to pause and reflect on the year so far, it's also the perfect time to share some exciting changes with you. Rest assured, we're looking forward to ceremonies in 2026 (and beyond) with enthusiasm, anticipation and gratitude for the journey to date! But we also recognise that by changing nothing, nothing changes... So read on for some updates from the team at Celebrant in Cornwall.

A Fond Farewell to our Sam

We are very sad to share the news that our much-loved celebrant, Sam, is "retiring" this autumn. Sam has been an integral part of our team ever since we met her as a bride for her own wedding back in 2021, and she has been delivering beautiful ceremonies with us for four years now. While we will miss her presence massively, we will always be grateful for her sunny disposition, her fun sense of humour, and her total dedication to being one of the team and delivering the best ceremonies possible. Sam and her husband, Jon, lead especially busy lives, and we know she is looking forward to reclaiming her summer Saturdays and spending more time out on the water and with her family. So it's not a goodbye, but rather a fond farewell to a friend for life.

Welcoming Mary to the Team

We are thrilled to announce that our newest celebrant, Mary, has now completed her training and is a fully-fledged working celebrant! If you're fortunate enough to have Mary officiate your ceremony, you'll be delighted by her kind, thoughtful and caring nature, as well as her beautiful writing skills and heartfelt presentation style. A 2025 bride herself, Mary brings fresh ideas and inspiration to help create unforgettable ceremonies, and she really is a true asset to the team.

Caroline's Continued Support

Our fabulous celebrant Caroline remains a crucial part of our team, ready to support us whenever needed. We frequently collaborate with her at one of our favourite venues, Boconnion, where she excels as the resident wedding planner. Caroline runs her own wedding dress boutique and wedding planning business and is also a devoted mum to three young boys, so we are incredibly grateful for her continued support and commitment to Celebrant in Cornwall.

Lisa's New Chapter

Lisa, our business owner and longest-serving celebrant, will be reducing her workload in 2026, taking on a maximum of 20 ceremonies a year. So if you've been considering booking Lisa, let this be your gentle reminder to confirm your booking soon! She has limited availability for 2026 and is already taking bookings for 2027...

And in some exciting new developments:

  • Naming Ceremony Service

We are delighted to introduce a naming ceremony service, available exclusively to couples we have previously worked with. It is our great honour to offer these ceremonies, and we are thrilled to have our first booking for March 2026!

  • Professional Wedding Witness Service

Our professional wedding witness service has been a tremendous success with those couples visiting Cornwall for their simple legal ceremonies in a register office. We are committed to continuing this service, providing trustworthy, reliable, and delightfully happy witnesses for your special day! Thank you to everyone who has booked this service so far.

  • Improved Processes

As we reflect on the past year, we are grateful for the wonderful experiences we've shared while working with some incredible couples. However, like any journey, ours has not been without challenges. To continue delivering exceptional service, we have undertaken a thorough review of our processes. One of the key areas we have focused on is improving communication about who we are and what services we offer. We feel this clarity is essential to ensure alignment with potential couples – and this is now also detailed in our Terms and Conditions, which can be accessed through our FAQs. And to provide a smoother and more efficient experience for all involved, we are tightening up the process and timelines for ceremony amendments, full details of which are also in our Ts and Cs.

As a team, we are committed to continuous improvement and feel very positive about the enhancements we have made, which are designed to provide an even better experience for our couples and also for our celebrants.

A Heartfelt Thank You

If you have worked with us, we want to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to you. We care deeply about the service we provide and are always committed to exceeding your expectations and creating memorable and meaningful ceremonies that celebrate your love - we never take your support for granted and are always truly grateful for the trust you place in us.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to more incredible seasons ahead, filled with love, joy and beautiful celebrations.

With love,

Lisa, Sam, Mary and Caroline x
